Flats are a staple in my wardrobe, and are the perfect shoe for ‘not quite warm enough to wear sandals’ yet ‘too hot to wear boots’ days. This season I’m loving neutrals, tans and metallics to lighten and brighten up the wardrobe a little for spring. Neutral, metallic and tan shoes also pair perfectly with spring’s hot all-white trend, chambray pieces and bright florals.

Espadrilles are going to be huge this season, as are lace-up or pointy toed flats (which are great for wearing to work – give your feet a break from heels!). Flats can be worn with almost every outfit, however they look best with some ankle on show – so if you’re wearing jeans or pants, fold them up slightly or go for a cropped style. Here are 13 of the best new season flats you need, all under $100.
