MATERNITY FASHION THAT DOESN’T COST A BOMB

22 People heart this

Post by Sorren at Young Mum Stufff

I love being pregnant. I think that’s quite obvious as I have 5 little kids. Ha. I think pregnancy is so womanly and beautiful. I love getting dressed when I’m pregnant. It may not always be comfortable and especially for a first pregnancy, getting dressed can be a big adjustment.

I remember being pregnant with my first baby and explaining to my mum that I just want my pants to come all the way up to my neck and then I’d be comfortable. I think at that point the ones I had must have kept rolling down under my belly.

I want soft. I want stretchy. But not clingy materials. I’m after loose. Flowy.

I dont usually purchase specific “maternity wear”. I’ve always considered everyday clothing that will fit a pregnant belly as ‘maternity wear’.

I like adding simple pieces to my wardrobe so I can incorporate these things with what I already own, and not stretch my current clothes to their limits. Asos and Cotton On are great for basics.

Here’s some ideas to get your started. Basics is everything in pregnancy.

DRESSES AS TOPS

Picture these with tights, boots and a nice jacket or cardi over it. It is intended as a dress, but worn while pregnant it turns into a long top that comfortably covers your bump and your bum. Look for dresses that are soft, stretchy and have no zips. My biggest baby was 11.2 pound and these dresses comfortably and stylishy covered my big belly.
