The skin is the body’s largest organ and definitely the most labour intensive. If we don’t give it the attention it demands, it turns into little Miss Temperamental. One minute it’s glowing like it ain’t no body’s business and the next it’s turned you into a patchy, dry disaster. Whilst keeping our birthday suits plump and hydrated as the seasons change is sometimes pretty hard yards, it shouldn’t cost us the earth.
I’ve been sent here on a mission from the beauty gods to share my life lessons with you all.
When it comes to cleansing, many products are designed to strip out oil which is actually our body’s natural form of hydration. No one likes to look like their t-zone is a slip and slide but over drying the skin with chemicals can cause our skin to go into meltdown mode. If our skin thinks it’s losing the battle of the sebum, it will over produce oil causing super shininess. It’s a vicious cycle and I’m having none of it!
Consistency is the key to winning the civil war I constantly find myself in with my skin. Being a girl is tough; being a girl with acne is tougher. I’ve spent many years staring at the ground through from pure embarrassed because of my face. This routine has given me my confidence back tenfold and I now regularly receive comments on how my skin looks.
Made in Australia, ‘The Oil Cleansing Complete Skin Care’ trio is pure delight. When I use any of the products, my skin looks like it’s been covered in gold paper, sprinkled with glitter and wrapped with a pretty little bow. You can buy the products separately for either normal/oily or normal/dry skin, but trust me, you want the lot. And you want them now.
Cleanser – It dissolves and draws build-ups of old oils, toxins, dirt and impurities like a boss whilst maintaining a healthy moisture balance. After applying, cover your face with a cloth to really open up your pores and suck in all the good stuff. It’s natural, toxin free, vegan, has plans to solve world hunger and volunteers at an animal shelter on a weekend. Ok, slight exaggeration but you get the idea.
Cleansing Oil – Options for Oily/Normal Skin & Dry Skin.

Day Oil – They have mixed jojoba oil, argan oil and extra virgin coconut oil to create one hell of a dream team. A tip with this one though, make sure you apply it at least 15 minutes before your first drop of make-up to give it time to really work it’s magic.

Night Oil – Simple, strong and effective this handsome devil will have your skin jumping for joy in no time at all. It’s made up three key ingredients which are all, you guessed it, oils! The sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil and rosehip oil ensure that day spa feeling whilst keeping your skin soft and subtle.

As the weather cools down, our legs retreat into their annual hairiness hibernation. A side effect of this yearly event; is what’s commonly known as dry-leg-atidus. While you question the legitimacy of what I just said, let me distract you with something pretty special. Not only is this product cheap, I’m pretty sure you would already have some in your bathroom cupboard. Or draw whichever storage space tickles your fancy I guess.
I get seasonal dermatitis which is super frustrating, so before I hop into bed, I lather my legs in Bio-Oil, adding a little extra to my shins (this is where it hits me most). It also prevents and reduces scaring which is great if you are ever tempted by a little scratching. It also doubles as an amazing night treatment for your hands. Using it on my face to reduce scarring left behind by my pesky cysts tends to be a winner. It’s rich in vitamins A and E and Chamomile extract. Which translated to layman’s terms means liquid gold.
