By Chief Bargain Hunter Chelsea Thomas
I’ve been tapping away at my keyboard, finding bargains, for four years now. That’s a massive amount of time to work at a kitchen bench, occasional desk or in bed (I know, my back is not in a good way). It was time for a sole space. Not just literal space. But head space. Away from it all (the kids and noise).
So I decided to completely re-style our granny flat into IHB HQ! It’s been a dumping ground for some time.
But here’s the thing.
I’m busy. So it needed to be done in a day. And the process needed to be super easy.
Bunnings has it all going on when it comes to DIY-ing a room, with minimal time, so I leaned on them for inspo and affordable product. When you’re watching what I did, think about the pieces you could use from your own home. For example, a drop sheet could be an old sheet you already own, right?
Check out how I transformed the space and really livened it up, with a coat of paint from Bunnings.
Step 1 was to give the room a new coat of paint. For those of you interested in this beautiful dusty pink, it’s Dulux Paint – Pianissimo Chip a93-T Shade P06D1. I picked everything up from Bunnings. They have paint experts. Yep. I got my fave colour (it was a dress that I loved), matched and I purchased the below all at once.
- Paint (Pianissimo Chip) – $49.90
Additional extras (you may already own):
- Drop sheet – $13.98
- Paint brush – $26.50
- Roller – $10.98
- Masking tape – $3
- Paint roll holder – $7.98
Stay tuned for next week’s instalment where I start to style my office. I’m up-cycling a desk chair!
